Osprey Nest

We got these great shots of the Osprey feeding her young out on the lake this weekend.  The 'babies' were pretty big I imagine they don't have too much longer before mom takes them out to fish on their own.

Turtle Pictures

I found this turtle shots that I really like but just had not gotten around to posting.  I hopes you guys enjoy!

At peace amung the trees

My boyfriend and I went for a walk through the woods this weekend - off the beaten path but in an area that he was familiar with.  I don't recommend going any place in the northwoods that you have not been before or you are with some one that has been there.  I know people who haven gotten lost.  And you should always take a compass and a gun.

Also we saw signs of wolves in the area again but we didn't see any - but they may have seen us.

The loon baby is growing!  I just love this picture that I got of the 'mother' and baby.  I say 'mother' because I am not 100% sure that it was the mother.  :)

 

The last time we saw the baby it looked like it was starting to lose it's baby feathers but I didn't get pictures of it.  Also I hope to be setting up a system to sell print for any for any that is interested.  But I have not had time yet with the holiday weekend - happy belated 4th by the way.

Shay Dam

Last Weekend I stopped at Shay Dam to look around.  I had been there before as a child but it was awhile ago.  The place hasn't changed much, it was buggy (where in the northwoods isn't) but very relaxing to be there.  Shay Dam is located on the Turtle River (Mercer Wisconsin Area) 

Driver directions from Mercer, Head east on County J in Mercer for 2.5 miles. Turn north (left) on Beaver Lodge Circle. Proceed 3.6 miles, passing Beaver Lake Road. Turn east (right) on Fisher Lake Road 1.2 miles to small side road on the left leading to Shay’s Dam. Watch for “Shay’s Dam” sign. Park with picnic area available.

 

 

Northwoods Lakeland Sunset

I had a wonder weekend - couldn't have asked for better weather.  I was out late in the boat and took these sunset pictures.  It was nice, maybe a little buggy.  I had a few issues figuring out the night setting on my camera.  So after the sun went down I was not able to take any more pictures.  I am slowly getting the hang of it though.

<------ This is my camera by the way.  Not the super high end but yet a little more that a point and shoot.  Again I am not a professional photographer.  I am an hobbyist at best. :)
