When we stopped along the trail for a break one of the local bars had some visitor's they feed the deer in front of the big picture window.  These girls sure were hungry, and a little on the chunky side.

Fresh snow shots

These are some shots from our snomomiling trip this past weekend.  We had a blast, so greatful for some snow.  The kids went along as well!  It was a total family outing.

American Bald Eagle

I saw on Facebook awhile back that 4 American Bald Eagles were found dead in Washington sate.  They were still looking for detail and honestly I hope they find the person or people responsible.  I think they are big beautiful creatures, and here are some shots that I took this summer of an American Bald Eagle.

Common Loon

Everyone seems to love the loons, these shots were taken and various times during the spring and summer.  I didn't get any shots of the babies this year because apparently their weren't any on the lake that we frequent.  Hopefully next year some of the little guys will make it.

There is something relaxing about the sound of running water.  It very peaceful and beautiful when mixed with the ice and snow.

These shots are from last spring - not that you could really tell a difference since the weather has been so warm in the Northwoods.  But I thought these would be a nice change from the snow that we don't have.

Small Winter River

Last winter we visited the a few location on snowmobile.  This was a very nice and peaceful little river that we came to.  I took a few shots I think there was a waterfall near by but it was so long along I don't remember now.

I have not idea why but I think the pine trees just look interesting in the winter, maybe because they are the only one with green left on them or maybe it's the way the snow sticks to them.

The best time to take pictures in the winter is first thing in the morning after a good snow fall.  I love the way it sticks to the tress, but usually by evening the sun has come out and melted it all away.
